Finally, some pictures...

Clicking on the pictures should make them bigger...

My favorite plaza, La Plaza Nueva; it's not actually that new - it was built by the Catholic Kings in the 15th century.

This is my apartment - I'm up there on the thrid floor, far-right balcony. Right across the street is a family's livingroom, and somewhere some man needs to see an ENT about his mucous issues...

My coffee place, even though they get a bit uppity when I sit at a table outside alone. Starbucks this ain't.

The Alhambra, the most visited tourist site in Spain and absolutely stunning in person. It was a Moorish palace/walled city later taken over by Christians, and the setting for some Washington Irving legends.

The city of Granada.

The beach at Almuñécar. It was pretty amazing swimming in the Mediterranean in front of a castle, before I vomited up my soup on the beach. It was worth it.

This is the Carrera de Genil, named after one of the rivers that flows through Granada. At the end of the street, you can just make out the newly constructed Fountain of Pomegranates, Granada's namesake. It's not the fastest way home for me, but it's flanked by fountains, and it's very park-like. The fruit is all over the city, from actual fruit on the trees, to the fountain, to mosaic work, and the little iron bars that stop cars from driving up on the sidewalks.

WOW. INCREDIBLE!! I wish I could sit with you and drink coffee...on Wednesday we are going to the coffee growing region so I will be thinking of you mucho. Congrats on the exciting beach vomit experience - sounds fantastic.

I like lots of things, but there are three things I like most...

coffee, vomiting on the beach, and tom. (slightly inappropriate, but such is life)

Enjoyed the pictures of Granada, but the landscape is much flatter than I would have imagined. I guess hot soup and a hot beach are not a proper mix:) At least you could jump in the water after the result. That was good planning!
Sorry I missed your call last Friday evening, early morning weekends are the best time. Stay healthy and safe! Love, Dad

Thanks for the pics....loved them. The beach looks beautiful, except for that spot that looks like puke...yuch! With all that you packed, you must have some curtains with you to hang in your apt.:) Might help as a buffer for the "mucous" noise. Send more pics soon if you can. Sounds like things are getting better....Hang in there and please stay safe. Ciao. Love, Elaine

Tom! All the pictures look beautiful and oh so Europe/Tom-ish. It's so nice to get a glimpse into your daily routine. I hope things are going as romantically as they look and that you're having a smooth settling in period. Take care & keep the pics/info coming!!

PS- You should enable RSS on your blog so that I can stalk you easier (and then your news can show up on my sidebar -- selfish, I know.)

PPS- I need your Granada address.
